FRIDAY, AUGUST 31ST
1:30pm Uniform Check in band hall
(MUST HAVE black shoes, black socks, uniform pants, jacket, plaque, gloves and hat on for inspection!!!) 9th graders arrive at THWS and dress out immediately
1:50pm Load busses
6:00pm ETA in Round Rock, TX
7:30pm Game
2:30-3:00am ETA back at TWHS campus – uniforms are returned to the uniform room before your ride leaves!
Parents please make the appropriate arrangements to pick up your child promptly after the band’s arrival so that everyone can get home as soon as possible.
IMPORTANT Game Day information from the Uniform MOMs!
For those of you who have picked up your new marching shoes, now is the time to invest in a black and a silver sharpie. Mark your band student's name inside the sole in black (or at least initials) and in the instep on the bottom sole in silver. Shoes are lost WEEKLY and this is the only chance you'll have of ever seeing them again. When you receive your rain gear, band and show shirts, also mark them with the student's name in sharpie. With almost 250 kids wearing identical shirts, shoes, and ponchos, it is a MUST! Black towels also need a name on the label. See the mountain of orphan towels in the uniform room as proof of the need for this!
Make sure your kid packs their tote Thursday night for Friday's game - see "ready to march" list in the handbook (print it out) and BRING the TOTE TO SCHOOL on Friday. ALL uniform items (including hats) need to be at the school by FRIDAY.
A "tough love" zero tolerance policy is being enforced on game days. The uniform ladies will no longer be lugging along spare shoes, socks, uniforms, shirts and hats. If you forget a uniform item, you sit in the stands. Therefore, make sure you pack everything you need the night before!!
All Totes shoes and
gloves are in! If you have not picked them up, Mrs. Carter will be in
the Band Hall Wednesday at
5:30.
Tote bags and garment bags will NOT be in for this game. You will need
to find a substitute from home to use on Friday. Please make sure you
have a garment bag! This is to keep the uniform clean on the bus.
Also - please make sure you bring your water bottles. You may want
some snacks for the bus and dinner before loading the bus if you did not
order it. Finally - if you have any questions, please ask.
