The schedule for this week is below.  The game on Saturday is in Katy and the student’s schedule will be announced later in the week.  Freshman parents please know that last Friday’s game was unusual and typically the students will arrive back from games before 5:00am!!  Hang in there J

 

It takes a village to help the directors with these amazing, talented and spirited students, please consider helping out in any capacity you can. . . . we need you!!

 

Important - If you have not paid your 2^nd payment of $400 – it is past due and is needed immediately.  Questions??  See band website under “finances 07/08 or email receivables@twhsband.com.

 

 

This Week’s Schedule      (note:  percussion/guard students know their practice schedule – I may not always be up to dateJ)

 

Tuesday, Sept 4th                 Full Band Rehearsal 3:30 – 6:30

TWHS 9^th grade campus open house

Wednesday, Sept 5^th            Winds/Brass Rehearsal 3:30 – 5:30

                                                Guard Rehearsal (assuming this since Mon is holiday)

                                                Percussion Rehearsal (assuming this since Mon is holiday)

Thursday, Sept. 6^th                Full Band Rehearsal 3:30 – 6:30

                                                Deadline for merchandise orders (see below)

Saturday, Sept. 8th               Football @ Katy 7:00pm (directions on band website)

 

 

 

The merchandise committee has extended the order deadline until this coming Thursday, September 6 for the following items only:

• Show Shirts
• Letter Jacket Patches
• Sweat Hoodies
• Pajama Bottoms

You can turn in order forms and checks for these items in the envelope marked "Merchandise Order Forms" in the band hall or mail them to the address on the form; however, if mailed, orders must be received by Thursday.  Order forms for the Show shirts and merchandise can be found on the website.  Make checks payable to TWHS BAND BOOSTERS.

 

Please be on the lookout for future announcements of when orders are ready for pickup.

"Keep our band smelling sweet from the air-conditioned comfort of your own home! The uniform committee still needs uniform-washing volunteers. This committee is in charge of laundering the uniforms 4-5 times during the season, including one washing after the end of marching season in December; each volunteer will be in charge of approximately 15 easy-care polyester uniforms at each washing. Please contact the uniform committee to join this prestigious committee.

 

See note below from our Uniform Committee:

 

"After Friday's soggy game, everyone should realize the need for a decent quality poncho. Opaque "clear" ones are the color of choice. These can be found at Wal-Mart, Academy, etc. Pack your totes this week with your poncho (label with your name!!), clean black socks, gloves, marching shoes, black towel, band shirt, spandex, and clothes for the bus. Get ready early! Don't leave last week's damp stuff in your tote to mold!! If your shoes did get soaked, stuff with newspaper to absorb moisture for a couple of days."    We are proud of how the band kept everyone's energy and spirits up through the bad weather!!

 

 

Please send large bags of candy (no chocolate. . . individually wrapped) to the band office for the Spirit committee.  Also needed are chips and hot chocolate. If you prefer, you can donate money and they will buy the items (make checks payable to TWHS Band Boosters – mark the envelope “spirit committee”). 

 

 

If you have any carpet scraps at home (thin, not the shag/thick carpet), the band needs 81 7’6” squares to use for practice.  If you can cut it yourself into a 7’6” square, it would be very much appreciated.   The sooner these can get to the school the better.
